VegiVentures was founded 12 years ago by Nigel Walker with the aim of providing holidays for vegetarian, vegan and health oriented guests. "I love to travel and also to eat well. I dreamt of sharing this vision by providing holidays with creative, healthy food. In 1989, as a trained chef, yoga teacher and tour operator, I combined my skills and since then have organised holidays in 14 countries."

Destinations now range from the relaxing (Turkey) to the challenging (Peru). We focus on great vegetarian/vegan food and a friendly group atmosphere. On some holidays such as the English Lake District, I take charge of the cooking personally, on others such as Peru we organise vegetarian/vegan meals cooked specially for the group by local chefs. Menus reflect the local environment and where possible the food is organic. My main wish is that you should return from holiday feeling fit and well and having had a great time.

We choose the healthiest and most beautiful locations. Accommodation is generally simple. We use small hotels, guest houses, hostels, and community retreat centres and on some holidays camping is an option. Wherever we go we respect the local environment and the traditions, culture and wishes of the local population.

Over 1,900 people have now been on a VegiVenture holiday or weekend break, many of them coming on their own. These holidays are ideal for men and women. In fact several of our regular couples originally met on a VegiVenture. A large number of guests have returned on a second, third and even a seventeenth holiday!
