Sweet Thyme Inn

vegan establishment, no meat, fish, dairy or eggs   mostly organic food is used   children welcome

Join us at the Sweet Thyme Inn for gracious year-round lodging, delicious vegetarian fare without animal products, an abundance of enjoyable recreational activities and rural peacefulness.

The inn is located in Pocahontas County bordering western Virginia and is surrounded by the spectacular beauty and tranquility of the Monongahela National Forest. Built in 1890, the inn is a restored southern style homestead with a beautiful covered wrap-around porch.

We'll provide a comfortable setting for romantic getaways, group gatherings or just an unhurried mountain-time away.

Guest Rooms

The recently remodeled guest rooms have been graciously decorated for timeless comfort and warmth. Private baths, hardwood floors, numerous large windows, beautiful fabrics, and cozy sitting areas embody the simple comfort and warmth of each guest room.

Blue Aviary Guest Room - Queen bed and private bath with shower

Rust Wildlife Guest Room - Queen bed and private bath with shower

Green Garden Guest Room - Two double beds and private bath with shower

As part of our commitment to the environment and your good health, you'll appreciate natural sheets and towels woven from chemical-free, unbleached cotton as well as chemical-free cleaning products.

Common Areas

The living room provides an easy atmosphere for visiting, playing games, piecing together puzzles, or reading a good book. Enjoy a leisurely walk up the trail behind the Inn for the immediate rejuvenation only the out-of-doors can offer. In winter, when returning from your adventures, you can warm yourself by our living room stove with a cup of tea. In the warmer evening hours, it is most pleasant to sit on the porch and view the brilliant night sky. Because the mountain air is so refreshing, this is a non-smoking establishment.

Organic Vegetarian Fare

Our vegetarian style of eating does not include any animal products. We strive to create a culinary adventure of nutritious and tasty fare. Whether you enjoy vegetarian food on a daily basis or simply enjoy healthy foods, this cuisine is a lovely experience for one and all.

Dining room

Two hearty meals, breakfast and dinner, are prepared from scratch daily using mostly fresh organic and whole foods. Each evening's desserts are sweetened with unrefined, natural ingredients. We often amend our menus to correspond with the changing seasons. Boxed lunches are available for your day's journey. Freshly ground organic coffees and a wide selection of organic teas are readily available.
