In the heart of Beautiful Downtown Ottawa Natural Choice/4 Nature Vegetarian Bed and Breakfast is a serene delight.

A comfortable bedroom

It is easy to find from Highway 417, just look for the castle that houses the Canadian Museum of Nature. Natural Choice/4 Nature is opposite the well-treed park adjacent to the museum. A lush organic garden greets you as you walk up the path leading to the Edwardian home. The house's many windows make it almost as sunny as your hosts' smiles. Siri Bandhu and Harimandir Khalsa are warm and friendly. Your room will be bright and airy, an oasis with original art and oh-so-comfy double beds covered in natural unbleached cotton sheets and duvets.

Breakfast

Healthy eating is not boring. There is an entire orchestra of foods on the breakfast table that the Khalsas prepare for you: homemade muesli, organic spelt bread, orange-pineapple-banana juice, seasonal jams, fresh fruit salad and local melons. If you are sensitive to cow's milk or are on a low-fat diet, you may choose organic soy milk. A diverse assortment of green, brown, and black teas are stored in a hand-crafted chest in the hall and are always available. A hot pot immediately provides steaming hot water. The water, cleaned by a reverse osmosis process, is always available cold as well. On Sundays there are organic spelt pancakes with sesame seeds (or not), wild Québec blueberries, and fresh Canadian maple syrup. Butter and jam are available too.

After your breakfast, you can see the many attractions within walking distance. You can walk up the store-and-restaurant-lined streets to reach the downtown core and the Parliament buildings, where the Changing of the Guard ceremony takes place. Your hosts have arranged many specials from local establishments, including complimentary beverages and meal discounts. They can also provide coupons for a tour bus that can take you near and far. If you wish to visit "the castle across the street", the Museum of Nature, the admission is free on Thursday evenings, or you can use half-price tickets anytime. You may also choose to admire the Canal and then peek into the many stalls at the market. You will not fail to notice how Ottawa, the capital of Canada, has maintained its small-town charm while becoming a cosmopolitan city. Let Natural Choice/4 Nature be your gateway into this remarkable place, and your calm retreat after a busy day.

Rates are from $65+ including tax, breakfast, and parking. Dogs, cats, and children are welcome.
