The Farmhouse of Flowers is situated at the junction of the Sierras Mariola, Aitana and Serrella and is within a few minutes by car of the town of Cocentaina and the city of Alcoy. The single story farmhouse is set amongst olives and almonds, with commanding views of Mont Cabrer, one of the highest peaks in the province at 1389m.

In August the town holds a four day fiesta in honour of Saint Hipolito. This is a colourful and noisy occasion when Moors and Christians hold mock battles for the right to rule Cocentaina. At the end of October the village hosts the Fira de Tot Sants (All Saints Fair). Originally an agricultural fair dating from the middle ages, it is now a market place for all things Spanish. It is the largest fair of its kind in Europe. The castle of Cocentaina is visible from our terrace, and overlooks the town from 550m. The town has a palace, an ethnological and agricultural museum and various churches with beautiful paintings. The market takes place every Thursday in the town square where you may purchase, amongst other things, top quality fruit and vegetables at very reasonable prices, various delicacies, an enamelled pan or a pair of shoes.

Alcoy is a small city just 8km away. Each year around the 23rd of April the world famous Alcoy Moors and Christians festival is held over a three day period. This is the most startling and flamboyant Moors and Christians festivals in Spain.

Rest and relaxation are guaranteed although good walking in the surrounding mountains is available for those want a more energetic break. For those who enjoy exploring castles, the area has many fine examples. You may wish to take a day's sightseeing in Valencia or Alicante. (Both are easily accessible by train.)

The rooms are typical of a traditional farmhouse with white walls and stone floors. The accommodation is clean and comfortable. To ensure maximum comfort and personal attention, we offer accommodation for up to only six persons at a time in either a twin or double room with a shared shower room, or a double room en-suite. We operate a strict no-smoking policy.

We are open all year with prior booking. Bed and breakfast is PTAs 5000 per room (2 people sharing), per night. A room for one person is PTAs 3000 per night. Additional beds are PTAs 2500 per night. No high season surcharge. A three course (set menu) dinner including wine is PTAs 1500 per person. Bookings must be confirmed in writing with a PTAs 2000 deposit per person per week. The final payment can be made in cash, (pesetas or pounds sterling*) or by personal cheque (with bankers card only) upon departure. Bookings will be accepted by telephone, fax or email, but must be followed by the appropriate deposit within 14 days. (*Current rates of exchange at the time will apply.)

Transfers by car from Alicante or Valencia airports are available at PTAs 7500 round trip (2 persons).
