Cuildorag House

vegetarian establishment   organic food is used, about 50%, some homegrown   children welcome

Cuildorag House is set in outstanding West Highland scenic area. Surrounded by mature gardens Cuildorag is a peaceful enclave a few hundred metres off the main A82 road between Glasgow and Inverness. The garden is regularly visited by a wide variety of wildlife including deer, badgers and red squirrels as well as being home to our free range hens and a short walk (150 metres) takes you to the shore where otters and basking sharks have been spotted by our guests.

From the house it is possible to take several short walks to make the most of the views of sea, mountains and waterfalls. Longer walks in the area include over 40 munros and corbetts (mountains over 3000 and 2500 feet) including Ben Nevis - the highest in the British Isles. Nearby ferries can take you further afield to many of the Scottish Islands.

We are exclusively vegetarian, and use organic produce where possible. Eggs from our hens are included in our substantial and delicious cooked breakfasts. Produce from the garden is often used in the evening meals.

Breakfast includes cereals or porridge, orange juice, Fairtrade tea or coffee, homebaked rolls and toast and a large Scottish cooked breakfast of egg, potato scone, veggie sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes and beans.

Evening meals may be homemade soup with chilli scones or homemade houmus with garlic toasts followed by stuffed pancakes, winter vegetable crumble or sesame and lemon stirfry and to finish melt in your mouth pavlova with fresh fruit.

The comfortable rooms at Cuildorag have TV and tea/coffee making facilities including fruit teas and hot chocolate. En-suite is available. The lounge/breakfast room has a wood burning stove, video, books and music facilities for those evenings when the walk to the pub seems too far!

Fort William is currently considered the outdoor capital of the UK, but whether you are here to try indoor ice-climbing, ski, watch the downhill mountain bike World Cup, conquor Ben Nevis, or just soak up the beauty, history and tranquility of this very special area, Cuildorag is a relaxed and comfortable haven.
