Cornmill Lodge is a small family guest house offering comfortable non-smoking accommodation.

Bedrooms are well-furnished, with en-suite facilities and a tea/coffee refreshment tray. Guests are welcome to use the toiletries which are free from animal ingredients and are not tested on animals.

Breakfast Menu

(Most foods are organic)

Fruit juices, fruit salad, cereals (including gluten-free)

Choice of:

Buckwheat pancakes (can be vegan) with either banana and sunflower seeds or mushrooms and sesame seeds
Tofu with sesame seeds and pine nuts
Vegetarian or vegan sausages or burger
Scrambled or poached eggs on wholemeal toast

Any of the above accompanied by any of the following:

Mushrooms and/or
Baked beans and/or
Tomatoes
Wholemeal toast with preserves, nut butter or Marmite

Fairtrade coffee or tea, Earl Grey tea or selection of fruit and herb teas

In the Area

Born in Yorkshire, the owner, Jen, knows a lot about the county and is always willing to advise guests about the many attractions of the city and surrounding area. There are plenty of leaflets and books covering a wide variety of places to visit.

After parking in the off-street car park, guests can walk to York Minster in about 15 minutes. Alternatively, Haxby Road is well served by public transport and is within easy reach of the railway station.

For those who enjoy walking, why not explore the Yorkshire Moors and Dales or the beautiful coastline. Or spend a day in the medieval City of York with its excellent shopping and restaurant facilities and quaint old curiosity shops.
